How to: Make you tumblr feed Look Amazing

If you have viewed my blog posts for a while, you know I love my aesthetically pleasing tumblr feeds. Since it is a new year, I want to make my feed look even better. And maybe you do too. If you are like me, I seem to be looking at pretty much the same topics like: summer, beach, tumblr photography, winter, etc. And after a while, you see the same thing over and over again.

Maybe the key is to look other places than just tumblr. For example, try searching tumblr on Pinterest. Or maybe on google. I come across some great pictures there where I think "wow. that would look great with my feed."

So what to do? Screenshot that picture and post it to your tumblr.

Screenshotting a picture on Pinterest:

1. Find the picture you like

2. Click on the picture to enlarge it

3. Right click on the photo and choose the option "Open image in new tab"

4. And there you go! Now you can screenshot the picture with no problem.

How to post a picture on tumblr:

1. Go to tumblr
https://www.tumblr.com/dashboard

2. Find the icon that looks like a pencil

3. Click on it and select which option you want (in this case, photo)

4. Add your picture and post!

I hope you all enjoyed this post. I would love to see your tumblr feeds so feel free to tweet me a picture on twitter at @chicslifestyle. Next week's post as usual is coming out at 12:00pm EST on Sunday so stay tuned! (http://everytimezone.com/) I hope you all have a wonderful day or night whenever this is being read.

The Struggle: Of Being a Girl

Ladies I bet you will all agree with me on this.

Being a girl is really hard. And boys, they don't really understand. I mean yeah being a girl is nice sometimes, but other times we sometimes wish we could be guys. Because being a boy is so simple.

Girls are really expensive in general. The money needed for pads and tampons, bras, and clothes too is just ridiculous sometimes.

And then when it comes to sex, we are the ones getting pregnant and carrying a human in our body for months.

And the expectations set for women are crazy. Slim, and basically no flaws at all, sums up all the expectations set on us. It is crazy also to see girls tearing other girls down because of the way they look or act.

And because of these expectations set on women, girls and women are not feeling confident on their appearance and thinking that they don't look good enough.

Often times when someone sees us they look at our bodies first before our personalities. The size of our boobs, size of our butt, and how curvy we are.

It's just a shame to see how women are treated and viewed sometimes. No one truly understands what a girl goes through unless they are one.

DIY Bubble Art

I once saw this post on Instagram from Nifty DIY @buzzfeednifty and I was so interested. It said that all you needed was a cup, straw, paint, soap, and water.
⚠I am going to be showing you all my fails and successes⚠
The third trial was a success.

Trial 1:

  1. Lots of water put into cup (about 3/4)
  2. Added a few pumps of soap
  3. Added paint and mix
  4. Blow bubbles
  5. Put paper to bubbles made
This technique did not work. I am thinking it did not work because I added the water first, then the soap and then the paint. When I added the paint it sank to the bottom when the soap was all at the top and was still white (paint color was blue). Therefore, the bubbles turned out clear and nothing happened.
THIS METHOD DID NOT WORK

Trial 2:
  1. Add paint into cup (this time the paint was gold)
  2. Add a few pumps of soap into cup
  3. Fill cup with lots of water (about 3/4 again)
  4. Blow bubbles
  5. Put paper to bubbles made
This technique did not work either. My guess for why this is happening is because the paint I chose (gold) was too light. When I looked at the paper, there were faint shimmery spots but I wanted to see the whole bubble imprint. I also think I put wayyyyy too much water. Because when I let my little sister blow bubbles, she blew really hard and water went flying all over.
THIS METHOD DID NOT WORK

Trial 3:
  1. Put a large amount of paint into cup (I used blue paint again)
  2. Put about 5 pumps of soap
  3. Mix well until soap turns into the color of the paint
  4. add a little bit of water (about 1/4)
  5. Blow bubbles
  6. Put paper to bubbles
This technique finally did work. I think what is needed is a high concentration of soap and paint to a little bit of water. Then when you blow the bubbles it doesn't look like there is paint, but there is. And when you put the paper to the bubbles it shows a great design. Pictures will be below.
THIS METHOD DID WORK

🎨 On the mid-left side of the picture there is a large blue blob. This happened because bubbles split over the side of the cup I was using. I thought it would be a cool idea to get all the bubbles onto my paper, but it just turned into a large mess. But overall it looks really good.

🎨 I did use regular printer paper which if you can see the paper curled up. Probably if you want to use this other than just for fun purposes, I would use card stock paper.

🎨 With this bubble art we have just created you could make cards, use it as literal art that you hang up, create notebook covers, or do whatever you want.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. I did put a lot of work into this post which is one of my goals for 2017. Comment below what some of your goals are for 2017. Stay tuned next week for another blog post at 12:00pm EST http://everytimezone.com/ (This link is to help aid you in what time it will be in your time zone at 12:00pm EST. Apps to Help you Through 2017

Happy New Year! It’s finally 2017. Let’s make 2017 your year by making it productive and fabulous. Here is a list of apps in a few categories to help you. This list is from the studyblr http://studyiers.tumblr.com/ . Because you all know by now how much I like looking at things from studyblrs.

I am excited to be trying out some of the apps from this list because they seem really useful. If you try any of them out, comment below what you think of them. And also let me know if I should do a blog post reviewing one of these apps. Just to add on I would say that the financial section is more geared towards college students or adults because I don’t really think anyone younger than and a high schooler needs this.

Update

Hey everyone! Happy New Year! I wanted to give you all a little update because I have some amazing ideas for the blog in 2017. So first I do have a few questions that I want to have answered in the comments.

Questions:
-What day of the week should I post?
-Should I change the day that I am posting each month?
-What kind of posts do you like to see?
-What should the favicon for the blog be?

I have also decided to add a quote at the bottom of each post I write. This is in hopes that you will get inspired, since I want this year to be a main focus on positivity and inspiration.

That is pretty much all I have to say about my blog. Although I do have some exciting posts for you all to see in the next few weeks, so get excited!

My letter to 2017

December 31, 2016 10:00pm
Dear 2017,
2016 was a year full of things. Amazing and not so amazing. I hope that 2017 is full of happiness and joy. And if possible, limit the days where I am sad or angry for a reason. Spread out and reach out to people and make more friends. Since one can never have too many friends. I want to make this year full of things exciting and trying new things. Stepping out of our comfort zones and checking a multitude of things off our bucket lists. Remove all the toxic people and/or toxic things that bring you down and make you sad. Let's spend less time on our phones and online and enjoy the world around us. I want to work hard and get as many A letter grades as possible to make my future better. Procrastinate less, and get my work done without delay. Get better organized and then stay organized. I want to be more outgoing and less shy than I am. Because it sucks. I want to make my tumblr feed on point (lol). Improve my style. Work super hard in swimming and when I get tired and fall, I pick myself up and keep moving. I want to learn new stills and hobbies such as photography. I need to learn to stop thinking about what other people think of me. I need to start loving myself because my appearance is likely not going to change. I want to set goals for myself and achieve them. Stop swearing, because it doesn't sound good. If you are feeling down just remember "The best is yet to come". If someone tells me I can't do it, I will use their doubt as my fuel and motivation to get there and prove them wrong. I want to make sure that I never care about how many likes or followers I get on something. I want to live in the moment and not live it through my phone. I hope and hope that 2017 will be the best year ever. Even though everyone says so, I do hope that this is true. Let's stay positive and hopeful. I would like to thank 2016 for an amazing year. Although I did like this year quite a lot, I am excited to see what the future holds.

Love,
Caroline
